It's been a fun month of reading, writing, listening to books and taking part in various literacy activities for March is Reading Month. At the start of the month, the kids were given a goal to read a certain amount of minutes each week. Special prizes were given out for goals met.
Alamo hosted a family literacy night, welcomed a guest author, participated in a reading lock-in and did a lot of reading on their own to meet their personal and school-wide goal! In the end, they surpassed the mark of reading 150,000 by reading 199,000 minutes! That meant a big reward!
The kids could vote for the final celebration and chose to make principal Mrs. Knight-Lucas into a s'more. It was a wild, messy and fun time!
